This is my extra credit playlist for Macbeth.
1. "When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again" by The Sun's Harbor Chorus
I chose this song because it symbolizes Macbeth's return from battle. He is praised and rewarded.
2. "Everything" by Buckcherry
I chose this song because soon after the three witches talk to Macbeth, he desires the position of King. This song, albeit about a girl, symbolizes his wanting of power.
3. "I Want it All" by Queen
I chose this song again to symbolize Macbeth's wanting of power.
4. "High Hopes" by Frank Sinatra
I chose this song because after being crowned as the new king, Macbeth was enjoying life for a while. He was happy and full of high hopes that this life would last.
5. "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers
I chose this song because after Macbeth had Banquo killed, all hell breaks loose. He begins to see ghosts and his life begins to fall apart.
6. "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins
I chose this song because, as I stated above, Macbeth sees the ghost of Banquo. This wasn't the first time he saw things that were not there...he imagined a dagger shortly before killing Duncan.
7. "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC
I chose this song because I believe Macbeth and Lady Macbeth have set themselves on this road. In Dante's Inferno, there is a special circle in Hell just for those who are murders against their country. I believe if they do not change their ways, they will end up in Hell.
8. "Bad Moon Rising" by Credence Clearwater Revival
I chose this song because it is very obvious to the reader that Macbeth is about to be in trouble. I can feel a bad moon rising that Macbeth should take cover from but I doubt he will.
9. "Nightmare" by Avenged Sevenfold
I chose this song because I believe that Macbeth is living in a nightmare. He was on top of the world and had anything he could have possibly wanted until he killed Duncan. Then soon after the joy ended despair was the only feeling he could have.
10. "So Far Away" by Avenged Sevenfold
I chose this song because it talks about have a life that was good but now they can't get back to it and about getting into a serene state of mind which I believe Macbeth needs to do.
Nice playlist. Queen's "I Want It All" is really appropriate to the greed/avarice of Macbeth. I also liked your inclusion of Creedence Clearwater and AC/DC. Gotta put a little vintage stuff in there too. Good job.
